Ethel’s Fancy

550 Waverley Street, Palo Alto

March 16, 2020

Premier Properties is excited to announce that we’ve leased 550 Waverley Street to the former chef at two Michelin-starred restaurants—French Laundry and Chez TJ—for his new interactive neighborhood restaurant, Ethel’s Fancy.  When the owners of Prolific Oven decided to close their doors in 2019, we at Premier knew it was going to be tough to find a concept that could attempt to live up to the community presence that Prolific had. We believe that Scott Nishiyama’s vision for an eatery named after his mother and grandmother will be able to fill those shoes. Nishiyama’s plans for the ±2,725 sq. ft. space involve an open kitchen and a menu that encourages sharing. He specifically sought out a community on the Peninsula for his first restaurant, which means that Palo Alto will soon be able to experience a range of dishes influenced by many food cultures, including French, Japanese, and Californian. Premier Properties represented the landlord in this transaction, and DS2 Real Estate represented the tenant.
